Its a strange year here on teh striper coast, the warm winter threw us all for a loop, everybody thoguht it was going to be an early year and its turning out to be right on time or even late. The spawn was not early like everyone thought and in most river north of hudson it was actually a little later than normal. The bunker are thick as thievs on the front side and river but not many fish with them. The bait fishing bite is starting to get better with some nicer fish starting to be caught, and the shrewsbury river is still loaded with fish.

My personal fishing has been done and night and is hit or miss, one night skunked next night over a dozen fish. Its been up and down with most fish being skinny fish that jsut breed out and are starving. Had a few fish in highers 20s and one mid 30s

The drum fishing in the bay has still been great and there catching some stripers as well.

Jj exspress when not losing me money in the market went out this weekend and caught 8 bluefins and a yellowfin to 70 lbs.

Fishing is still very slow around this full moon on the island, not hearing much at all about fish getting taken from the beach. A few small teen fish here and there, still waiting on the big push of fish. Bay seems to be holding a decent amount of drum from the boats to 60 lbs.

Dante

Boat fishing up north is still on fire with bigger and bigger bass getting caught. The shore fishing its still hit or miss up there and here on the island its very slow a few teen fish getting caught here and there. The bay drum bite is red hot like always just surprises me how nobody targets them around here. Good to see a decent amount of large breeder weafish around, please release them as there always nice to see and the stocks have been hurting during these early months they are laying eggs.

Dante

Boats are struggeling to find the Stripers off the coast off lbi last few days. Seems as the beach crew is strikeing out as well. Its been a weird year and in my opinion the fish tricked us all, usually the fish are done with the spawn by now, With the warm year i feel everybody thought the spawn was going to be early and i feel its actually going on now and late.

The fan has been on the past few days making it hard to fish, however those braving it are catching. The bay is loaded with smaller fish and there are more and more fish getting caught off the surf. There are much bigger fish up north and the river up north are loaded with herring and big bass. Starting in a week the Tourney starts so its time to get serious.

Dante

Time is flying and the striper fishing is a weird year. The big fish really never showed in any of the river, and people are still hoping this change. My buddy Bob who fishes the Delaware hasent had a fish over 25lbs and usually has a few over 40 by now. Himself and his friends havent missed a day since March First, My buddy Andy has been fishing the Hudson and nothing to show for but small fish he is good for plently of 40s a year and a 50 or 2. Down south the river arent holding the fish, where might they be? The ocean front here in New Jersey is stacked up with good quilty fish which is early, the bays have bigger fish that i could ever remember so what is going on? Strange year it upsets me to say this but the mass murdering of the big fish is starting to take a toll. Will we ever learn? will we make this fish a game fish? change the regs something needs to be done.

Dante

We have one more this upcoming week and then its time to fish like a monster.

Spoke to Greg at fishermans headquarters and he put a hurting to the fish down in North Carolina this weekend on Pez Machine.
