Early morning report last night fished with Rob to test out some shark grounds, threw out a chunk of tuna belly and waited about 45 minutes for the first bite to come tight smaller 65lb range brown shark, 45 minutes later came tight on another which was around 85-90 lbs. 2 quick fish then was in bed by 1, running a charter today for some inshore fluke so will report back.

Spent the night rigging some bars and ballys for a friend who is heading to the blue fin grounds today, along with him i heard of a few others so hopeully will have a report. If weather stays true i will be heading 30 miles tommorrow looking for some inshore action.

Beach flukeing has almost but died the last few days..

Dante, heres my report from yesterday at the thirty line.
It was another great day on the water. This time we were on the Jr. Delight a 30 Foot Contender, which rides like a cadillac on water. We pushed off at 230 am and were greeted by glassy seas. It was so smooth that we actually got to the Chicken Canyon before daylight. We set out the spread with three way back lines with Bally, some plugs in the wash and green machines in short. At some point the center line was bit short then it came back with no bait at all. Our first fish in the box was a mahi next to a lobster pot. The mahi were thick but geting them to bite was a challenge. We were maintaining radio contact with Angler Management and it became obviouse that we were not in the right spot to catch fish. We decided to head back to the thirty line and it was game on. The blue fin were busting water chasing bait. Russel the muscle tossed a popper right on the pile and the water exploded and the Blue Fin engulfed the the popper up to the eyes. Russ was on the fish for at least a half hour before we got him boatside. This was his second fish on a popper this season. It was a nice fish in the 80 to 100 lb range. We called Angler over but I dont know if he got hooked up. We tried for a while longer hooked one more but he spit it and that was it. Headed for the barn and we were home by 1230. Sushi for dinner, gotta love that Toro.
