This was the scene outside of Oregon Inlet this weekend once the commercial guys were done. Hundreds of dead bass. | |

Now that they are dead you can't really change the past only hope to stop it from happening in the future. Wish some government agency had the brains/manpower to skim them up and donate them to food banks/shelters. | |

the sad thing is how they are allowed to do this.
The way it works is a joke.
The trawlers are allowed 50 fish per day. They can trawl all day. They are allowed to keep the biggest of the fish. What this means that once they get there 50 fish they will continute to catch fish. They will cull them and swap out the dead smaller ones they have for a fresh larger bass.
At the end of the day they have only the 50 biggest fish they caught. This is what the law states and it is perfectly legal. I believe they have 2 days they can do this. | |
